2025 ELECTIONS ANNOUNCEMENT
The European Social Marketing Association (ESMA) is pleased to announce the launch of elections for six new additional Board members who will be joining the Board. This is a great opportunity to work with colleagues to support the development and activities of the social marketing community and field.
We invite you to put your name forward as a future board member, if you are up for the following set of tasks. The ESMA Board main responsibilities are:
- support the growth of ESMA as a globally recognised professional organisation for European social marketing
- increase awareness of social marketing methods, research, practice and evidence among academics, practitioners, and policy makers
- enhance knowledge sharing among members
- seek affiliation with appropriate partner organisations
- secure funding and financial integrity of the organisation
- organise a biennial European Social Marketing conference
- attend the ESMA board meetings and actively participate in the ESMA projects.
Eligibility:
We encourage and hope for wide participation among our members and all ESMA members who are based in Europe are eligible to apply. If you are not a member yet, you can join through the Membership section on our website.
An important goal of the election is to ensure representation on the Board from throughout Europe and we are particularly keen to increase representation from Southern, Eastern, and Northern Europe. We also encourage applications from members with diverse backgrounds, practitioners, and early career social marketers.
The Board reserves the right to reject applications from candidates whose affiliation relationship may pose a risk to ESMA’s reputation and their organisation’s aims and operations are not consistent with the ESMA aims and standards.
About the Board:
The ESMA Board will comprise up to 10 members. The Board positions include: Chair, Vice-chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Committee Chairs. After the elections, the Board will hold an internal election to divide roles and responsibilities amongst themselves to meet the requirements set out above. Currently the Board has four committees: ESMA Representatives and Volunteers Committee; Membership Committee; Communications Committee; Learning and Development Committee.
